ODE TO LIFE

This was a writing task we had to do in grade 5; write an ode to life.

Forget you troubles,
Listen to your heart.
Follow it wherever it leads you.
Trust it.
If it says, "Find your soulmate,"
So it, have faith in yourself.
If you've wanted to go to the moon all your life,
Do it, take the opportunity
Because you may not have a second chance to do it later in your life.
Encourage youself to do something daring.
Go swim with sharks,
Jump 3000 feet,
But most of all,
Have fun.
Believe in yourself.
Be proud of what you're doing.

hey thanks! i remember being asked to write a sort of "poem" that didn't rhyme because i had never heard of an ode to life before. the teacher said to make it inspirational...at the time i had no idea what i was writing but now i read back on it and it's okay...i can see that there's a message in there and although at some points throughout the piece i would critique now its not bad for the young me hahaha

Yeah it was! And it probably isn't fair to yourself to critique a poem you wrote at 10..lol...you need maturity and experience in such things.

Actually I've never come across an ode to life before. The only poems I've ever written rhyme like crazy. Hahahaha...somehow I find the need to rhyme in poems or it won't seem fun to write or read to me (please don't take this the wrong way, your poem really is nice, heh...)...

I've posted 2 here so far...lol, hell of a lot of rhyming..lol
