The Power of Words
Power of Words
Essays we write
We work all day
From day unto night
And no hazard pay
Lunges and swings conquer any word
Our pens are no stronger than any sword
But uniting the might of many words
Are more than match for the largest hordes
As they see the force of our sentence
They’ll cower in fear in repentance
There are more words then there are weapons
With the arsenal we have, help they’ll beckon
With words, we wrote our Declaration
And with words, we Addressed the nation
Since then, this power has yet to be tapped
Replaced with yelling, and nonsense called rap
This most serene of guns, has become obsolete
Replaced with slang, and a language called L33t
I hope words will be used to attain peace between nations
Before fighting breaks loose, then nuclear annihilation
Like the legend of Arthur, these words are in stone
Until needed by people, will the king take his throne
