just wanted to mention, torrents are only illegal if they contain illegal stuff, such as keygens, pirated software, etc., and same goes to normal zip files.

I don't know but it might be good for some people to learn what hacking is really about and not download a program and run ! CODE YOUR OWN ****ING PROGRAMS  that has to got to do it there are people always people who are asking me how to hack voila thats your answer learn to code ! then you know what a program does do !

Depends on their content. If the torrent is the movie Click with russian sub-titles then there might be a problem 
But if it is a home video of something silly or some freeware then there isn't.
I'm surprised this topic hasn't been brought up earlier. I've seen alot of sites go down because their users were supplying illegal file links. |

Not true, it depends on the country also. Theres been alot of issues going on in the courts about torrents etc. No major torrent websites have been shut down to my knowledge.

I'd suggest that you use Linux to avoid piracy issues. The latest versions have excellent multimedia hardware support, and a plethora of programs, it's just a matter of finding something to suit your needs. Sure, Linux lags in WiFi support, and some games are available for windows only, but the selection of software is is good enough to keep me away from M$ and software piracy issues. |
