Make Firefox even faster!
I config a bit of my Firefox and I think it works

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:
network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows: (by double clicking them)
Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"
Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

Be careful where you use the multi-port tip from SirRetro. If you are getting internet access from somewhe, like my college that doesn't allow file sharing programs, they most likely don't allow them because the programs open tons of ports at the same time and divide the information among those ports to get it transfered faster. Doing this will do the same thing, it opens several ports to get the information faster, which is probably fine at a house, but it uses a lot of bandwidth, which is why some places do not allow that. So if you are on a large network or somewhere where there are bandwidth concerns, be careful doing this. -Ian

Acutally, in theory, FireFox has more options because you can download extentions that others have made. Otherwise it seems to have just about everything that FireFox has or can have...
