Seems I'm in the same club. Although it was a bit existential and surreal at times, and the whole 'I want to marry my brother, which makes you my nephew Tenchi' thing was kinda...er...*shudder*.
The first OVA was the best. The others slowly, IMHO, started to cheapen the characters and the plot as just fillers.

Taro Maki has a bad habit of that.
He did the same thing with El Hazard (wonderful), El Hazard 2 (OK), El Hazard Alternate world (good at first, then...blah), and that last piece of drivel that was as hallow as a donut whole.

Where's Ichigo? The TV series as one bit 'hallow' that needs to be taken care of.
