Most likely studying for you has become a descrimitive stimulus.
Meaning: That your body goes into sleep mode, once you start studying. You've conditioned yourself for it.
(Or, you just don't get enough sleep and your body is taking any time you aren't moving as a sign to shut down.)
To get both studying (courses where you only have to memorize, or read) and exercising in: Try walking while studying. (Hallways work well, and just take the late bus. Thus get home and already most of your studying is done)
Even better if you have a pedometer. Thus you can see how much extra work you have put in, while studying. (I use this technique myself)
