Tips for overcoming Procrastination
Turn off the music before you sit down to study. Many students claim they can concentrate while listening to music, but research disagrees.
Put the dog or cat outside. You know you can’t resist them when they wander in and want to play!
Bring a snack or drink to your desk before you start. That way you won’t be tempted to walk away.
Turn off your instant message tool. Concentrate on the mission at hand if you have to research online. Don’t get distracted by email or instant messages.
Turn off the TV and the phone. If you really want to make the most of homework time, you can sacrifice these two for an hour or so!
Just remember, if you change your study habits now, you can avoid things that will interrupt your thoughts and distract you from things that really mater.

Re: Tips for Overcoming Procrastination
Get a good amount of sleep if you are planning to study 8-10 hrs at best. Know your learning habits. It is best to know how you learn. Are you a visual learner (someone who learns from watching and experincing), Auditive learner (someone who learns from listening) or a literative learner (someone who learns from reading). If you can find which category you fall under and prepare your study materials to suit that learning ability then you will increase your study proficiency greatly.

Re: Tips for Overcoming Procrastination
another tip. have a set time everyday for studying and limit time on the computer or TV to 1 hour a day only. works wonders for me.

Re: Tips for Overcoming Procrastination
good tips, another good one might be to set goals for yourself on what you want to accomplish, keeping an agenda really helps you stay on track and get out of the habit of saying "oh...I don't need to do it today, I can always do it tomorrow"

Re: Tips for Overcoming Procrastination
maaaaaaaa, i can't afford to procastignate anymore mah i always have something i need to study for, the problem is that the educational sistem in my country bites, aaaaaaaaand we have lots of incompetent people which can't set a good curricilum, sooo, us kids have to learn the most idiotic things that we'll never use or need, EVER. so, no tips for procastignating, i'm starting how to forget how that even went

Re: Tips for Overcoming Procrastination
I go to a high school that requires a moderate amount of work to get a B-C average, and your heart and soul at the first floor entry to get an A.
So, yeah, perhaps a couple of these ideas might be helpful.
Although I can't help but wonder what the heck I'm gonna need most of this stuff I'm learning for - except religion, which I can use in debate, and which deepens my knowledge of the world around me (and why it is as it is).

Re: Tips for Overcoming Procrastination
i procrastinate a lot.
Like this one time when i had a 500-word essay due on some date, and i made it 2 hours before it was supposed to be submitted.
i still dunno bout the result , but yeah.. 'crastinatin is baad.
if there's one tip i can give to you that usually works for me when i get to NOT procrastinate, it's this:
sit down, and actually start the work. before you'd even know it, you would be so into your work that you would get to be able to submit it waaaay before the deadline comes up.
just start it. it works.
