omg that's so dumb! who would be stupid enough to think this is a good idea! there is no way i would go to school if i knew all of my teachers carried guns... why don't they just increase security. i know some of the high schools in oregon require u to walk through metal detectors before going into the school.

Well lets hope that the teachers with guns are a good shot, or better yet, how about you give teachers martial arts training to deal with stuff like being attacked with a knife, gun, etc.

martial arts training is nice and all but in a real fight, unless both are using martial arts, its useless. there are more pratical self-defense methods that drop a person in 1 hit to decrease the risk of a prolounged fight.

Usually the weapons are in security officers hired at the school.
Otherwise most of these arguements could be made of any authority carring self-defense.

I think that it is sad that gun control is more about the rights of the crazos who want to carry guns everywhere, rather than the rights of ordinary people not to be gunned down at teh whima nd fancy of these people.

It is interesting though that only in the US does this problem seem so prevalent!

Hmmm..civilians to be allowed a gun - even for safety precautions is too *what's the word* martial law.
Besides school is supposed to be where kids can be safe right?

Why don't they just put more cops or security guard in school.

Here in our school they placed cops, undercover cops and security guards all over the place. Not that we bring guns or anything. Our university is actually open for anyone because we have a church and a hospital inside the campus. So the security guards are mostly undercover. We even found out once that one of our janitors was actually an undercover security guard.
