Default About Reminiscence

Just a quick question - Do you need to watch the regular series of Rurouni Kenshin before you can understand the Reminiscence OVA? I've heard really good things about it, but I don't have the time to watch all 95 episodes of the main series, so I was wondering if I should just go straight onto the OVA?

Reminiscence is already a great piece of work as it is. But I believe in order to appreciate it to its fullest you do have to watch a few episodes. It is not neccessary to watch ALL the episodes as the series is made up of side plots here and there. Just watch a few episodes at the start at the series, middle and end.

But watching the first OVA 'Trust and Betrayal' is a must!

I agree trust and betrayal MUST be watched before Reminiscense. I don't want to spoil so I won't say more XD.

I have only seen Requiem for Patriots and loved the story line - haven't seen any of the OVA or TV episodes yet.

It would have helped a bit to know who the characters are and a little about their relationships, but I suspect that the writers are good enough that you don't have to watch everything in order...

Yeah, you have to watch the whole thing, in order: Tsuiokuhen, Kenshin TV, and lastly, Seisouhen... Just download it, burn it, then watch at your leisure, if possible. If burning it is not an option, then I would recommend watching at least Tsuiokuhen first, *before* watching Seisouhen. That's because in Seisouhen, references are made to events that happen in Tsuiokuhen, so you'd enjoy the OVA more if you watch it in order.

Reminiscince.... I saw that, it is more of after the manga I think. (which is MORE than the OAV covered.

haven't read the manga but there is a HUGE timeskip from the end of the TV series. And I was told the manga covers Kenshin's relationship with his son, and whatnot.

Still good for the fight between Kenshin with Advanced AIDs Vs a guy training all his life to beat kenshin (kenshin kicks his arse easily of course)

Although quite sad too.
