So i just saw Rurouni Kenshin-Reminiscence (subbed) and i have to say that, as much as i love the anime, for me the OVA is much better for a few reasons. First of all, can't say i miss the anime faces, its not that don't apreciate a little anime humour now and then, but in this case i always felt they a little unecessary and ruined the anime a bit, sometimes. Second of all, i think kenshin as the hittokiri battousai (hope i got spelling right) was a much more interesting character, with a lot more depth. Also, the fact that they didn't have those neverending explainaitions about the attacks used during the fights, made the action scenes much more enjoyable.
Despite all this, i still consider the anime to be one of the best anime ever, at least the first season.

true rk was a brill anime the ova was a brill ending to the series eps 95 was useless and the first 2 seasons rockED!!!

i didnt get to watch the episodes, only read the manga
but i watched the ovas and the movie.
so i dont know if the ova is nicer than the episodes.
but i just find the drawing different. the ova and the epi(manga)
are they trying to make it more realistic?
if they did, well, they succeeded. it looks freakingly real.

yeah the OVA is very realistic but u really have to see the anime! kenshin is and always will be one of the best anime ever, tough the ending is really disapointing but anime endings always are... *sigh*

yah they tend to end the animes abruptly causing the whole anime to look...juz like GSD

You can't compare Kenshin to GSD.. GSD was ruined by a retarded director (Mr. Fukk-u-da) while Kenshin's director wasn't that bad

If your talking about the Trust and Betrail OVA then theres no comparison, that OVA owns all, not only the series but just about every other anime out on the market

If your talking about the Reflections OVA then i cant campare much because the series and the OVA consentrated on diffrent things. One more thing is that although i loved that they decided to make a finale the way they ended it with the death of Kenshin wasnt the way to go

Overall i think kenshin is to date the best anime series ever although that title is being threatend recentlly by Naruto and Gantz

I hope they continue this epic following the story of Kenji

Hmm, when i made this post i din't realize they were different titles for the OVAS, the one i have has the title: Ruoruoni Kenshin - Reminiscence: Tales of the Meiji Era. Its the one that's centered on kenshin's life as the battousai and ends with the death of tomoe and kenshin getting the cross-shapped scar.

I dunno if i can they say the anime is the best anime ever, Naruto was really good until it started having too much popularity and i haven't seen Gantz, and i think Bleach is turning to be one of the best too. Well what i mean is, ruruoni kenshin will always be one of the best anime.
