Romulus's Riddle

Ok guys, first riddle here I go. Apologies if you've heard this a thousand times before, been on the forum before etc. Unfortunately i dont have time to go over 30 pages

You are walking along a path in a forest, the path comes to a sudden fork. One of these ways leads to certain death and the other to certain happiness and wealth. Infront of you are two brothers, they both know which path is which. One will lie for certain and the other will always tell the truth. How do you find out which way to turn?

If you haven't heard it before it may seem difficult, anyway, get cracking lads (and gals)!

i've heard this before, not here, but i don't know the answer i'll think about it.


Edit: i've found it (maybe). You ask both of them if they are brothers, and one of them lies, he's the lyar. One of them doesn't lie, he is the honest brother. You ask the honest brother the right way, and you follow it.

i think the riddle was suppose to involve you could only ask one question....

you ask them both "which way would your brother which door leads to paradise, which direction would he send me" (they both point thr wrong way) then choose the other direction.

This is one of my favorite ones, but I always heard it with only asking one question, and that was "Which way would your brother say?"

Since the honest one KNOWS his brother lies, he would say the wrong road. And his brother knows that the honest one would say the right road, so he would lie to you and say the wrong road. Therefor, pick the road neither said.

Let's assume path A is the good path, and path B is the bad.

You ask them, "what would your brother say is the good path?"
The lieing brother would lie and say B.
The truthful brother would say B.

In that case, you would follow path A.

Or, you could take a page from the Order of the Stick and shoot one of them in the foot with an arrow without saying a word, observe the interaction, and *then* ask which way to go.

So what if he goes the way you came there, not any of those two? ;3 Anyway, I've also hear that we should ask them about the other brother. It's the best way =]
