An Arab sheikh tells his two sons to race their camels to a distant city to see who will inherit his fortune. The one whose camel is slower will win.

The brothers, after wandering aimlessly for days, ask a wise man for advise. After hearing the advice they jump on the camels and race as fast as they can to the city. What does the wise man say

Two men and two women stand on a riverbank. They would like to get on the other side with a boat. Unfortunately, the boat can only carry as much as two people.

The 4 people can not cross the river at the same speed. One women is able to cross it in 5 minutes and the other in 10. The men can cross it in 20 and 25 minutes. (This means that if a men is in the boat, the minimum cross time - one way - will be 20 minutes.)

How can they cross the river in one hour ?

#2: The riddle still needs some clerifying, are they able to cross the river two at a time, because if its single.... its impossible... unless u chuck the boat over the river... if it is two at a time, math is somewhat flawed, i believe you forgot to take in the time it takes to row back with the boat to pick up new people at beginning, but other than that,

Take 25 minute man and 5 minute woman, woman goes back, takes 20 min man, goes back, takes 10 min woman... still it seems wrong...

Answers are Very Simple

1.The wiseman tells them to switch camels.

2. First the two women cross the river together (10 min). Then the quick woman (5) returns (+5=15).

Now the two men cross the river (+25=40). The other woman (10) returns with the boat (+10=50).

Now both women take their last journey to be re-united with their men ... (+10=60).

1. They ride each others camels

2. does not work out cause I get a min of 65 mins.

ehm why cant the fastest women of 5 mins. not go that way< with extra person go back> take another extra person go back and take another etc etc... this only takes 20 mins..:P

5 min woman and 25 min man add 30
10 min woman and 20 min man add 30

30+30=60

beats me, but why would changing camels matter? im not sure that would really help.
