if a clock was turned into a 24 hour clock so that it sttuck 24 times at midnight, how mnay times would it strike in the course of a day?

typically in 24 hour time midnight is 0, not 24... I'll think about it and come back later if it hasn't been solved.

I solved it, but then I saw it was already posted by nitemare. Too bad I had to go to a meeting before I could come back and post. -Ian
