does anyone kno if the saffron/ranma fight is in the show or in one of the OVA's?

i've only seen 12 ova's, and i've never encountered anyone named saffron. unless there are more ova's, then it would be most likely a character from the regular show.

i think saffron is some leader of a tribe of bird people in china

saffron is in the manga, the last epic arch of ranma 1/2 manga version. saffron is the pheonix god that ranma almost kill and this is because akane almost dies.

I don't think Saffron is in the anime. He's an semi-immortal phoenix king that Ranma kills in the last volume to save Akane. The reason he's 'semi-immortal' is because when he dies, he gets reborn like a phoenix. Ramna rips him apart with a super-powered Hiryu Shoten Ha thing.
