What is QPetz ?
What is QPetz ?
QPetz is a virtual pet that can be cared for, trained, and battled. They have different Battle Stats and will level-up during battles. Leveling up occurs when your pet's experience is at 100%. When they level up the statistics are increased.
QPetz will get hungry, every day, and will require food to prevent them from getting. They will lose health if they get very hungry! When your pet's health reaches 0, it will die.
To keep a pet fed and healthy you will have to feed it and prevent it being killed in battle!
QPetz are displayed next to your name on messages you post in the forum. They are also displayed in your user profile. Your QPetz can be quickly found by going to the QPetz Home which has a link in the QPetz menu in the top navigation bar.
Clicking the image of a QPetz will take you to the pet profile. This is where you can use an item, view the QPetz statistics and spells that the pet has learnt.
If your pet dies it can be resurrected by clicking the resurrect link in the QPetz Profile of the pet. You can also create a grave as a memorial for your pet in the graveyard.

Battle Wins & Losses
The total battles, wins, and losses are also displayed on your pet's profile. It provides an idea of your pet's battle history, whether it is an accomplished champion or a first rate punch bag?
QPetz Area
Home
Home displays your current items, living pets, and current point total. If you hover the mouse over your pet it will display some brief info such as health, hunger, level, and age. If you click on an individual pet it will display a more detailed full screen information page specific to the selected pet, this is referred to as the pet's profile. If you have no pets it briefly details how you can create one.
Pet Profiles
All sorts of pet's information are displayed here: guilds, parents, age, health, hunger, moral, strength, defense, agility, wins, losses, level, experience, etc..
Pet spells are also displayed here so you can see how strong a pet is at a certain spell. Pet profiles are also the place to use items upon a pet. So your inventory is displayed with the option to use items.
QPetz
All pets are created in the Vet Area, below is a description of each category of pet.
QPetz Eggs
If you have a male and a female pet, and you are below the max pet limit, you may select a father and a mother out of your pets to create an egg. This evolution provides you with the possibility for pets to increase stats through generations rather than just battling and training. Generations add a whole new level to QPetz! Random parents option selects parents from the existing pets.
Market
Market is where you go to buy anything for a pet that isn’t related to health, or spells. This includes food, moral boosters, kill items, items that can change a pet's color, etc. Items can be sold back to the market for a percentage of what the original price was.
Vet
The vet in QPetz is the place to go to heal your pets after battles, as well as to create new pets or to ‘put down’ a living pet.
Arena
Arena is where you will be doing most of your fighting, in STYLE! There are a few short words to explain why: ANIMATED, INSTANT. There are various fighting options: One on One, Free for All and Guild War. Sounds great? It is. Words cannot describe the Arena. It is easy to use and Easy to control more than one battle pet and easy to create a battle. Warning!! Pets can die in battle!
Gambling
If a battle is between round 1 and 5 you can bet on a pet. You can only bet on battles you are not participating in. Odds payout is random. Users can bet as many times as they want on a battle, and their tickets will display in the gambling tickets bit. Losing tickets are deleted after a battle and winning tickets are flagged as ready for the owner to claim them. Guild Wars and training sessions can't be gambled on.
Training
If you want to get experience and level up your pet, but don’t want to ruin your reputation by losing battles, you will need to train! User creates a bot and selects the type and level. The level defines the difficulty. Other than the fact that wins/losses don’t count here, it is identical to the Arena except for the fact that you can only do one on one matches here and Warning !! Your pets can still die!
Spells
Spells can be used in battle. They are leveled from 1-100 and will do damage depending upon their damage and the level. Spells are animated in battle. There is a choice of five elements: Fire, Water, Ice, Thunder, and Earth. There can be multiple spells of each element. EG: 10 different fire spells and 20 different ice spells. Spells have a use condition based upon MORAL whether a pet is good, evil or neutral. Spells also have a success chance. So nothing happens if your spell fails.
Pet Shop
The pet shop is like an advertising space. You can put your pets up for adoption, at a price you set…or you can adopt a pet that someone else has offered. The pet is still yours until it is sold.
Kennels
In QPetz, kennels are where you can send your pets when you need to take a leave of absence and won’t be able to care for them for a while. There is a daily fee associated with keeping your pet in the kennel, and also a removal fee once you return. This allows your pets to be removed when ever the owner wants rather than on a predefined day. Pets in kennels can't be stolen, items can't be used on them and they can't be battled. They won’t get hungry or die.
Graveyard
Dead pets can be remembered in the graveyard by purchasing a gravestone with a date of birth and death, as well as a little phrase if you choose to leave one. They can also be dragged from eternal bliss or pulled from eternal damnation. The resurrect feature can return your loved pets back to life. For a fee of course! The resurrect link can be found in a dead pet's profile or the graveyard menu.
Top List
Displays the eldest pets, pets with the most battle wins/losses, and pets with the best stats.
Guilds
Want to team up with other pets to take out rival Guilds? Well this is the way to do it. Users can create Guilds that will allow pets to apply to them, and upon approval of the application by the Guild owner, the pet is let into the guild. Guilds have wins/losses for Guild wars.
Auction
Auction is used to trade pets and items. The seller can choose the item or pet, the number of days the listing will last, the reserve, the instant buy it now price, and a short message. Bidders pay their bid when their bid is entered. When they are out bid their bid is returned. The seller recieves the winning bid minus tax when the auction is ended.
Steal Items
Items can be stolen with a chance of success. The victim is alerted by QPetz Message System when an attempt is made. The fines are only given when the steal fails.
Steal Pets
Pets can also be stolen with a chance of success. The victim is alerted by QPetz Message System when an attempt is made. Like the steal item, the fines are only given when the steal fails.
QPetz Message System
QPetz Message System displays both alerts and information messages to players in the QPetz Home page. The messages are deleted when they are displayed to reduce database usage. They are used to display short notifications about steal attempts, kill attempts, when an auction ends, and when a pet is bought from the pet shop.
Search
Search for pets by their name. Wildcards (%) can be used and search can be sorted.

Creating An Egg
Creating An Egg
Go to the Vet. It has a link in the QPetz main menu.
Once you are at the Vet, find the 'Create a QPetz Egg' category which is under the 'Vet Items' category. Simply click the 'Click here to create a new egg' link.
Now you can choose its parents (if you have some QPetz) and enter a name.
It is worth noting that you can't select a gender. Though it is possible to decipher the gender from the egg. However, I'm not going to tell you how to do that!
It is also possible to know what color your pet will be. The large spots on the egg will show you the color of the embryo.
When you are finished hit the submit button!

Trading a Pet
Trading a Pet
QPetz can be bought or sold from the Pet Shop which can be accessed from the QPetz menu.
Buying
To buy a pet from the Pet Shop simply click the 'Buy' link that is displayed under the Strength, Defence, Agility of a pet. The link will also contain the price that the owner has decided to sell this pet for. If you can afford the pet then the points will be deducted from your account and credited to the previous owners account. You will instantly recieve ownership of the pet.
Selling
QPetz can be sold via the Pet Shop. While a pet is advertised in the Pet Shop, it is STILL UNDER YOUR POSSESSION so you will still have to keep it alive!
When you sell a pet, you can enter a brief description of the pet. This is displayed in the Pet Shop so it is worth writing an inviting description. You will also select the asking price. Note that you will have to pay tax on the price of the pet.

Pet Items
Pet Items
There are two places you can buy items for your pet, the first is the Market and the second is the Vet. The market sells food items and a few special items like name change, pet re-color and kill items. The Vet sells heal items.
Items have different costs, stock levels and effects to moral. Items may also only work with a specific type of pet. If an item is too expensive for you to afford or out of stock you will not be able to purchase it.
Enter either the Market or the Vet at the QPetz menu.
Find the item you would like to buy. Each Item has an icon, name, description, stock level, effect, and cost. You can't buy an item if you do not have enough points or if it is out of stock. So check both these fields and only choose one you can actually purchase. Also take note if the item can only be used on a certain pet!
The cost of the item is in the Buy column. Click this link and a confirmation message will pop up, click ok to purchase. Once you purchase the item it will appear in your inventory. This shows if the purchase was successful.
If you are in the Vet you will have to use the item right away so select the pet you wish to heal and the item will be applied.
If you have a Market item you have more options. You can choose to use this item on your pet or on someone elses pet, to sell this item back to the market, or to leave it in your inventory. To use an item you will have to go to the pet's profile. To sell back your item in the Market simply click the value of the item in your inventory. After you confirm the action the item will be sold.
When you view a pet's profile you will notice that under all the stuff about the pet is your inventory. This is so you can use items to feed, re-name, re-color or kill pet. Kill items only have a certain chance of success in killing. The pet doesn't have to be yours to use an item on it. So you could feed your friends pet if they go away for a while.
