charlie and the choclate factory
i saw this on wednesday night
i have to admit i was not impressed and i found it almost dreadfull
now jonny depp plays willy wonka very well but they portray him in a dark light almost perverted
and you just cant beat gene wilder !!!! he is an amazing actor

Re: charlie and the choclate factory
I saw it a few nights ago.. I think on Sunday>???!?!?! I don't recall right now. However I do recall being slightly dissapointed.. I mean, it really was lacking in the true ability to capture that film... The original is definitely by far the best and Johnny Depp was definitely not my favorite.. I liked Charlie though, he was a cutie.. I liked him better than the original charlie.. that's about it.

The umpa loompa's are really dumb in this one.. Just not the same quirkiness of the 60's era... they were great at pulling of cheesy and making it cool all at the same time... the umpa in this one is the same guy, just a bunch of him..

Re: charlie and the choclate factory
I haven't seen it and don't plan on it, I thought it looked lame and i liked the old one. Plus i don't know what everybody sees in Johnny Depp. I like P of the C, but that is the only film i liked him in

Yeah, because fat chocolate eating children, oompa loompas and a Micheal Jackson look alike would make any couple horny in a cinema.

Re: charlie and the choclate factory
This one was really good, actually. I watched like the second half of Willy Wonka the day I saw Charlie that night, and yeah, they are completely different, which was the point. Charlie goes by the book very closely, Wonka took a lot of liberties from it. Both are really good, it's hard to really call one better than the other.
