I enjoyed it.
Even though they don't even mention the battles of Mycarle, Artemisia, and most importantly: Salamis (the battle that saved Western civilization)
On the other hand, it mimiced the enticing style of Frank Miller. Also this might be the tip of the iceberg regarding the capturing of fantasy using green screen CGI. Although 'Sky Captain' has done this before, it was an original work. The floodgates could be open to many other visual (but 2-d) masterpieces.
It was also nice to see what a real xiphos would do to a human being, instead of the fake hits we see all the time in the movies.
(and for those who know the true history of the battle, if you listen carefully enough you'll hear them drop salient facts - like it was the Phoneicians who were supposed to guard the goat pass, and failed)
