The point of the bank is that it protects your gold. When you are attacked or gold-reconned it is only your gold on hand which can be stolen.

It takes 2 turns for a standard attack - the 1 turn you specify is the number of additional turns you spend pillaging. Therefore an attack with a single turn of pillaging costs you 3 turns in total.

You can take gold out of the bank, ou just need to use the (Use Bank) box at the top of the Image verifacation boxs
