Gonzo makes some terrific anime, and last exile is a helluva amazing one.

I am getting the licensed dvd's as well.

It has a lot of combat with air ships and such, and some of it is cool. I thought the end was very moving with what happens to all the characters...but the middle lagged a lot. It was ok overall...if you can get through the middle part, the end is worth it, I think.

the best part was the dance of luciora..lent an undescribable quality to this anime.

The characters werent bad, includiong Al, who had by far the cutest intro with that scene of her and the doll

If you are a fan of a deep story filled with Drama, then this show is for you. The character development and the relationships between the main characters are some of the deepest I have ever come across. Also, the animation is superb and the battles are extremenly well done. I say you check it out past the first few episodes to really appreciate the show.
