Default Go Clubs?

Is anyone here in a Go Club? Im trying to start one at my school, so I just want to know, what kinds of things should I do to advertise Go? The game just doesn't seem that popular at my school and I want to have a lot of people in it...

No, it's hard to get peopel into it, I tried getting my cousins and friends, I kindof got my frined to play a little. But another one of my friends watched the anime and then he had thto play it too,and downloaded games justlike me. I think the anime is really the key. You have to get a bunch of people to watch it and give it a chance until they get hooked, then they will want to start a go club too.

Unless you have some friends who also like anime and particulary,
they enjoy watching this anime, I'm afraid you'd have quite a
hard time to fnd so member who'd like play go. The only way
I play go right now is in the net. Practically, there's nobody
where I live who's interested in playing go. Quite sad.

set up a few demos and show people how fun Go is. Some people would love to learn new games. See how a chess club sets up its group.

if it is sport then it will be easy... but with go... it a ancient game but people still play it if they understands the rules... so i suggest u hold some kind of open house to ur go club with ur current members and show them how to play go .... try to make it interesting thought or it will have a negetive effect

I wish there was one in my country.

If there is one then they do not advertise.

Of course considering how hard it is to contact the chess adn scrabble clubs here, then it is possible that there is a club but I don't think much people here know about Go at all.

I am from the Caribbean.

Not much is needed for a go club, if you have access to a school computer you can easily play against your club members or other go players. The KGS server isn't too bad if you chose to play net go, it has a built in ranking system and several different rule sets. If you plan on getting go boards, good luck finding them outside of Asia, going to have to pay a hefty shipping bill too .
