reward non-spammers on a wide basis

i.e give q's or turns or whatever to say 20 ppl with a lot of contributing posts

it might work more efficient then deleting a few of the worst cases once in a while.. (not saying u shouldnt btw..)

it shouldnt be the volume that counts most though,.. but the quality of the posts..

Your reputation points are supposed to be for that but the mods don't seem to pay any attention to them, plus I never see any mods around much any more. Probably cos the messageboard is so dead with it being a holiday period and all!

well rep points rnt realy an incentive.. just a counter for misbehaviour..
also since no post ever got a rep-point awarded.. (to my knowledge)
and cause u cant do anything with rep-points..
so theyre rather pointless

We dont gives reps just and when we like, we gives to those whom deserves it and so the value of reps will be high... I was around here reading almost all post but didnt post because there isnt anything for me to post and didnt want to join in the thread and may go offtopic...

I try to give out rep points now and again. There are a lot of good posts out there if you look for them...

And honestly, if you can at least stay with in range of the topic AND it gets people talking again, that's better than NOTHING.

Rep system is terribly flawed. I for one don't use it because of one of it's "exploits". At first I was happy to see it, but now that I know more about it, I depise it.

As a mod, there isn't too much to do. Sure I can redirect the problems to some place else, but in the end, I feel as though the mods can't truely help in the stopping of them...at the moment. I'd love to smite rule breakers on a daily basis (and this would make me a lot more active), but I lack the power so.

I like the idea though, as long as it wasn't automated (because it wouldn't work automated). I can think of an easy way to do this, but I feel it might burden skylight. Mods could post recommendations in a thread in the mod section (with links to specific posts for evidence). Then near the end of the month the list would be complied together with all the names and the mods would vote on 10 people (because a top10 list sounds more elite). Skylight could then look over this and hand out wxyz amount of Q$ to said people (w,x,y, and z being any number between 0-9 [examples: 0255, 1000, 0095]).

However skylight is a very busy person...none-the-less, I feel that this is a good idea.
