Readability of the forum

Hi. I'm quite new to these forums, and I just thought I would come with some feedback on the design here, before I got too used to it (becomes blind to such things after a while).
The problem with this forum is the readability. Generally, this is held back by two things: The gigantic forum signatures that are allowed (containing images, colored text, huge fonts and smileys), and the layout of the posts.

Honestly, why would you allow such enormous images in signatures? I understand why it is tempting, but when there are no restrictions at all, the signatures will start looking as forum posts in their own rights, and taking a lot of unneccessary space and loading time from the real thread replies. When a user with an enormous signature posts a single-line comment it will take the space of Elvis' life history in 10px size.

When it comes to the layout, I just want to give you a tip: What about having the author info on the left side instead of above the post in itself? This does, in most cases, look much more neat and clean.

Well I agree with you We do have forum signature rules but apparently many members don't follow them. So I will start warning or even removing huge signatures (maybe if I am in a good mood I will resize them).

As for the layout I think its better that way. I do have another IPB forum where author's info is on the side and its hard to read or find who wrote what when the thread is active and has many replies.

I believe that there is a certain option in your user cp that can disable signature for your viewing of post.. Check out your option in your user cp..

Thanks for the headsup. If you see any oversized signature, please report (you'll see a little icon that says report post above the post)any post of the person who has a huge post and mention the reason along with the report, we'll handle the rest.

What is the limit on a Signature anyway?
(once again looks at the one Natsume sent him)

And having the person information on a column instead of a row....I'm still debating if that would save room or not. Especially for the plethora of one sentence posts that we see all the time.
