Default [Tutorial] Fading Foreground

Author: Tachu

This is my first tutorial, so go easy on me!

1) open the image you would like to add the effect. This is wat i chose:

2) Make a new layer and fill it with the color/gradient you want.

3) Press Window > Animation to open the animation window.

4) You will see the first frame completely in the color you filled the layer. Duplicate that frame by pressing the button at the left of the trash can.

5) Now make sure the second frame is selected, and right click on the layer you filled, and press 'Blending Options'. Set opacity to 0%

6) Now press the 'Tween' button on the animation window. (it's the one that has about 4 circles diagonaly, right beside the duplicate frame button. Choose this options:

7) You should now have 22 animation frames, here's a preview:

8) Duplicate the very last frame, and set the opacity of the layer you filled to 100%.

9) Press tween again, with the same options used before. You should now have 43 frames.

10) Final Product:

You may add other things to the animation. You can also edit the speed to whatever you want.

i suggest you use tweening if you dont want to move the layer, then duplicate it, then move again, then duplicate, move, duplicate, etc........ it's A LOT easier to use tweening, it do all that work for you.

LoL I can imagine.

I'm just a control freak. I like being in control of the frame

never needed to do anything that technical before OK so its not exactly technical but you know what I mean!

I use to have a number of tools that did tweening I found fireworks easest to work with.
Just saw a perview of the new photoshop CS 3 and if you ever worked with fireworks or dreamweaver then you'll notice right off the new PS3 has that style of tool bars and windows
