Well, when my computer boots up and i log onto my XP account on my desktop I get a warning saying I have low Virtual Memory and that i have to go to control panel etc etc etc then advanced tab then settings and then to change the virtual memory initial and max.

So I went and i changed it to 1500 megs to 1500 megs. and I restarted the computer, but for some reason I can't get the computer to change the virtual memory it always says the memory allocated to Virtual Memory is 0... why is that?

can someone please help me. My computer is slowing down quite a bit and some processes take a while....

if you have a solution please post here or PM me or even email me! I'm in need of help, I've tried a few other programs like spybot... CCleaner... etc..

there might be too much programs loaded to ram with the startup , viruses could do that too

You might need to give some more info to accurate diagnose the problem...

It could well be that you are loading too many programs at startup and that's eating into your reources... it could be one app (like some kind of sidebar) that's buggy....

.... it could also be that you are allocating space you don't have (guess)......

What is your system spec? (CPU/RAM/HDD % in use)....

.... and if you ask someone in the hardware business they'll tell you that you need to buy a new PC.... or at the very least more RAM (they always seem to say that though)....

.. or let us know if you've already kicked the warning's butt...

Well you need to tell us more about the problem but go on youtube and go on speeding up your computer and i found a really helpful one that you go on Run... then you type in what it says then you selct your startup options u unselect all except any needed programs when it starts up e.g antiviruses

It is for sure a virus just need a new antivirus program and I suggest u get ur self kaspersky .
