Alright... you want spikes i'll give you spikes. Easy spikes....
Example of Tutorial
1. Start a new document size of your choice. I decided to go with 400X200 with transparent background.
2. Take the poly lasso tool and make a spike.
3. Now fill it with black
4. Make a new layer (still selected) and and fill it with white.
now you layers should look like this:
5. On the top layer do filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur with a amount of 4.0/4.5/5.0, whatever amount you want for the amount of shadow on your spike. i went with 4.5
Now you shuld have a nice spike
