I'm know about photoshop and like more and I know not many people can afford to buy it. D-load pirate stuff, yeah~ it easy to say it (dun cry if your PC eaten by the worm soldier). I planning to try the Gimp but it seem I can't install it. It bcoz the Windows OS, I hope not.

p.s.
After mastering the art of gimp, I wish I can teach and share it to other people how great the software is.

The old and shareware (30 day) version of Paint Shop Pro (v.4) is still very good ->

http://www.pagetutor.com/downloads/psp412.html

I'm not sure, but I hear that after the 30 day trial (instead of disabling the program) it just nags you to register every time you startup the app. So if you can stand unclicking that nag screen off everytime you want to use it, then I guess it's alright. But like I said, I'm not so sure about this as I haven't tried the freeware version and I had the registered version a long time ago but stopped using it when I got Photoshop.

you're welcome guys! I dled paint shop pro myself and am now 11 days past the 30 day trial version and it still works.

Another excellent program if you can afford it is Corel Painter. A lot of digital artists in deviantart.com since it can replicate brush strokes with traditional mediums very well (oil, watercolor, etc.). I'm not sure but I think it's a little bit cheaper than Photoshop.

hmm I tried using Deep Paint, for a newbie like me I found it helpful. BUt I want to find a software that allows image packs to be used. There's a lot of awesome brushes out there but I can't use it with other softwares. *wey*

SO PaintPRO can be used even after the 30 day trial? hmmm Gotta try that one...OH does it allow image packs? for brushes and textures??
