Who do you think would win in a battle of wits?
Personally...i think L is smarter

L definitely if the death gods didn't exist.

But, Kira does have a really scheming mind. He'll do whatever it takes to win.

Depends one what the clarrification of 'battle of wits' mean.

Kira has the ruthlessness, which saves resources for conflict.

Yet 'L' obviously has no life, and doesn't have anything of social value to worry about. Which probably means he has more time to sharpen his mind.

It would probably go to 'L'.
But I wouldn't want to be L, if you know what I mean.

but in the end:

Kira's weakness is: That he has to stay hidden.
L weakness is: That he has to stay within the law.

Kira will only win if he finds out L's real name. But I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Kira will win because of the fact that L has to play along with the law and politics of the time...if he didn't have those weaknesses, L would probably win though....

L will win in terms of Psychological War. But Kira has the deathnote so it's a little hassle for L
