So which do you people think fits Julia better?
I would say Angelic Demon: She is a beauty who causes pain. Perhaps I would think better of her had she and Spike run away together.

I've got to go with Demonic Angel. She was often in situations where it would have been wiser to do the wrong thing, yet she continually allowed the good of her nature to triumph. No matter what happened throughout her life, she never turned completely to darkness. This inner core of goodness is what makes her character so compelling. The darkness that clouds her actions cannot mar her innate goodness. An angelic demon is someone who deliberatly causes corruption and suffering, but feels remorse over the loss of beauty in the world. Julia strikes me as someone who wants to do good, but has been consistantly forced into poor decisions. She sees Spike as her way out, but he is too disheartened by his own actions to free her. Her remorse is genuine, her decisions necessitated by circumstance; she doesn't corrupt for its own sake, but because she has to. She's definately an angel that has fallen through no fault of her own.

You do bring up some interesting points about Julia and I do agree that she was forced into most of her actions, but I think the most important choice she made was of her own free will and that is what damns her in my eyes. It was of her own freewill that she cheated on Vicious with Spike. It was because of her that their friendship was broken and that many of the events that took place in Cowboy Bebop happened the way they did.

I guess I have to boil it down to an Angel in Hell, although for the imagery created, the two I think are suppoe to be synchronious. The series leaves the past so ambiguous, that Julia is only given to us as a myth, a figment in Spike's memory that gets maybe one episode combined of a physical manifestation. To Spike, she's an Angel caught in Hell, a Hell the dead half of him shares. To Vicious, she must be a demon in Heaven. The details of her betrayel are ambiguous, but whether Vicious was f***ed up before or not, he certainly was vicious in response to her, a demoness who seem to tear a bit of sanity from him and yet was surrounded in Heaven. What that Heaven was to Vicious that Julia was trapped in is I think debatable, perhaps that heaven was what she had found in Spike, or maybe it was her escape from the Syndicate, but I think in Vicious' eyes the latter is less likely, as I'm not sure he would treat the Syndicate as a Hell, maybe even as his heaven! In the end, because of the ambiguiity left to us by the writers, it seems like the only approrpiate thing to do is accept both images as a single one for Julia's character.

I would say angelic demon too,she intended no hard but as all the female goes, is weak minded and easyly scared,thats why they are always a problem.

Take your pick I just think she's Blah! I don't see why Spike is obsessed with her - she is sooooo bland. Maybe there is more to her but she can't hold my attention long enough to see it.

Um, if I understand this right, Demonic Angel. Relatively good person in a bad situation often doing bad things but not completely evil.
