Is there life elswhere in the universe?

Does anyone ever wonder if there is a chance that another planet far away also supports life, such as our planet? I still haven't completely made up my own mind yet, but I believe that there in fact is life elsewhere because if the universe is everything, and its constantly expanding, then the chances are that more then 1 planet will be suitable for life.

Any other opinions on the subject?

Well, assuming that we are doubling our scientific knowlege at a fast rate, we just may be able to find exterterestrial life when Im 50

i personally believe that somewhere in the universe also have lifeform like us.
Since there is earth, there must have other planets like earth. Probably not human and not necessary high intelligence super being, maybe not even as advance as us or they might still in the caveman era.

Yeah, that is what I believe, but I also assume that there is intellegent life as well, and that on some planets, evolution is somewhat behind ours.

Basically, there is propably intellegent life out there as well as life that is forming intellegence

You mean like they aren't necessarily in a form like ours, they may have joints the other way 'round, diff skin (not just colour), diff amounts of limbs, diff sorts of limbs. And they probably won't be as violent as the movies portray aliens to be.However, they'd have to have really good technology if we were ever to make contact with them. (And I bet they don't speak English.)

I share neon's thoughts. Out of every galaxy and planet in the universe, how is it that Earth is the only one to have life on it? That just means somewhere out there there might be some being asking the same question. I think that it would be awesome to meet aliens and to learn about their culture and technologies. It'd be a great learning experience.

Well since we have began exploring outer space this has been a big question. It is even belived by some astronomer experts that Mars was once habitable. Some of mar's land and metorites that have landed on earth shows evidence that it might of contained water.
I do belive that somewhere there is life elsewhere, It might simply be that we can't reach that place as of yet.

hm, on the thought that they aliens might not be violent, just look at us and what we do to the members of our own race because of differances. imagine what we would want to do if we found a different species of intelligent life :S
any way i dont know it would be fun if there were that way we could learn things from each other lol
also do you wonder what would happen if they came to us first and we didnt understand their intentions(i once saw an episode of outer limits that aliens came and we didnt understand them and we thought they were attacking but they werent so we go blown to bits anyway lol)
