Re: If you could slap one celebrity, who'd it be?
I'm sorry 'bout the remark on bush. It probably was out of line. I've heard that your news reports mainly on the good things about your president. You'll all vote for a winner etc. In Australia, more people seem to vote for those who play the underdog. And the news is of the slip-ups our politicians make. If anyone takes offence to me bagging out Bush, Osama or even Mark Latham, whom most of you wouldn't have heard of, I'm sorry.

Re: If you could slap one celebrity, who'd it be?
Heck, don't be sorry, it's just your opinion. I think Bush is okay, don't like his stance on oil but he takes action; instead of just talking. I'm v. thankful Ol' Blair backs him.
I really don't like Kerry... I don't find his arguments convincing at all.
The options for goverment here are fairly limited - there's not one strong party. Everybody's tired of Labour, Tories still have a bad rep, Liberals are too Pro-Euro, UKIP have been hit by racist accusations, same for BNP... *sigh*
If I had to vote (thankfully not 'til next year), I'd vote UKIP. They're against the frigging EU and that's good enough for me.

Re: If you could slap one celebrity, who'd it be?
I just wanna see someone put money into education instead of military for once. I believe Bush spent way too much money on this whole "Vietnam part 2". I could go on about my views of the world from this subject, so let's just say I have my reasons.

Re: If you could slap one celebrity, who'd it be?
hm, i believe that he did in fact create a program for education and put money into it. also where do you think the money comes from. taxes of course, i like the ideas of votaures(sorry cant spell) where we get money to send kids to a private school instead of hte public ones, lol. okay and its not the lack of money that is making public schools so bad. for one its the fact that everybody can go there so a bunch of jerks who dont want to learn end up there and ruin it for everybody else. and also a lot of times, there are so many things that teachers cant do because of the idiot kids.
oh and another thing there would be alot more money if the stupid schools quit spending it all on sports. come on do we really need to take charter buses to a foot ball game only 2 hours away, no i dont think so(not htat i dont like them becaues they are a lot more fun but when it means cutting out educational programs to do such stuff arrrr)
oh and what freekin news have you been watching saying the news reports mostly good things about bush, like heck no. nothing good every comes out of the mouths of hte stupid news people. about the only station that even attempts to be fair is fox news.
and hte last president of the U.S like majorly reduced the military. Come on military isnt bad people it even helps straighten out some people. We cant sit around with like a miniture army and hope that no one attacks us becasue the fact is that people will atack us. they always do. and we have to be ready for it.
and xzaf do you mean gulf war because i havent heard of vietnam part 2 hm, oh well, lol
okay i've said enough

Re: If you could slap one celebrity, who'd it be?
Over here it's the state governments job to put money into state schools, so to help the private schools, the federal government puts money into them. Now the public schools are complaining even though, all up they receive more. The teachers federation has been promoting ignorance and it just isn't right. (Not that this will affect you.)
It's just the thing's I've heard. Fox station is pro bush right? Well, A radio station I was listening to over here was interveiwing someone who had been interviewed by fox. They played the interveiw iver the air. It sounded bais towards Bush.'specially 'coz the reporter would re-answer the person's question to make the answer pro-Bush. It is good to hear him putting moneyinto education and they do need an army because they have to make up for Japans army as well.

Re: Politics Chat
Split topic from the other thread because it was getting a little off topic, so I made it's own topic. It's always good to have one of these topics to see everyone's veiws and what not. So to continue...
During my American history class, my teacher kept comparing it to Vietnam, so that's what kinda stuck. I can see how it could be called another Gulf War also.
I agree with the whole sports thing. Most of the people I've delt with that are in sports are too bright (namely the males). But I believe if there was more money then they could figure out new methods of teaching that could change the views of certian people and allow them to have fun at school and not be such idiots.
I believe in having a good military. We already have an outstanding military, I just think that we need to pump more funds into education so that we don't have as many people whose only goals are to get D's so they can pass. Or at least put more money into Research and Development. Plus how many nukes do we have? Sure a lot of people wouldn't be happy if we used them as our only weapons, but people aren't happy what we recently did either. I don't understand why we had to do something that the UN didn't even want us to do. The UN was established for reasons. North Korea openly said "We have WMD's!", yet we go to Iraq because they supposivly posed a threat with WMDs but we find none?
Actually I was fine with Bush until the whole Gay Marriage ban thing. This is the subject I didn't wanna bring up in the other thread. This is the land of freedom, yet it's not ok to be happy just because someone is the same sex as you? I don't see how it's wrong to be married under the eyes of God or be recongized under the state as a married couple. It's not fair to the those people who care about each other in that way. I'm homophoic to an extent, but I'm not one to say "Hey, you shouldn't be married because you are the same sex".
I'm not really aware of every thing that Bush has done, but from what I've heard, he's spent way too long over in Iraq, too much money on military that could be spent else where, and the whole Gay Marriage ban thing is just stupid.
Oh, and from my understanding, Japan isn't allowed to have a militray because of WWII >.>

you should really see this. *Low level coarse language warning* it's so funny. This should lighten up the topic a bit. P.S. I do not endorse the content of this webtoon.
I agree with you for splitting the topic, I noticed that it was getting off track too.
Also, I beleive it was correctly said in XXX 'America, the land of the free, but have you ever tried to walk into a deli and pee on the cheese'
something like that, I'm not saying, walk into a deli and pee on the cheese, But I'm saying.... I don't know what I'm saying. Well, it's not really free if you have laws, but every country needs laws so it doesn't get out of hand.
And yes, Japan doesn't have a military 'coz of WW2.

Re: Politics Chat
part of the sam-sex marriage thing is that people dont see it as good that it isnt what God wanted.(um, not going to expouse my personal views here but may put them on my blog)
which i think is the way Bush feels so of course he would be againts it. Also a lot of the whole gay marriage thing was for political reasons not for real rights or anything, like that.
also bush couldnt have spent to long in iraq because if we left to early it would have left it in complete cahos(you may say it is now, but its no its not, i think mostly bad stuff is shown on the news and part is that people love bad stuff, lol)
and the UN is just a weird useless orginization, that cant do anything without the consent of a bunch of memebers who dont really like each other, and only have their intrest in mind, and the i think the U.S. is the biggest supplier of troops to it so we end up fighting with maybe a bunch of stuff we didnt even want to.
and as for north korea, i think we are taking care of it. not sure though since you really cant get anything off the news and i dont go crawling around on the web looking for dirt, lol haha.
and as for people in other countries being happy about what we did we ahve to do what is right not what is popular.

Re: Politics Chat
I agree that the UN is useless, It doesn't matter what they said, America went to Iraq anyway. I don't mind the war in Iraq, even if WW1 was the 'war to end all wars' we humans haven't really learnt from our mistakes. What the world needs is another super power, like Russia was. 2 nations with separate ideas, not conflicting enough to start a war, but conflicting enough to let countries choose the path they want without anyone suffering as a result. I don't know if it was purely coincidence, but France didn't support the Iraq war, then American airports didn't let the French concordes do buisness there. As a result, concordes went severely out of 'fashion'.
With the free-trade agreement, congress made additions to kepp their sugar industry thriving. When we were going to make changes to make medicines affordable, they wouldn't let us! Now that is unfair.

ha, the world dosent need another soviet union, always taking over people and hating all sorts of ways except theirs and usually causing the people to suffer, i mean look at like what the people there used to suffer through, they suffered a lot. not that i think what the U.S has is the only way because its not, lol.
