Lots of commotion and ppl discussing about the end of the world at this particular date. Do you really trust this? Do you believe in it? Share your thoughts. Here's some links and info to the beliefs. Also there's a movie coming up in 2009 about it.

I don't believe in that type of thing because every 5 years someone wants to act like it's the end of the world for any reason they can grasp. If the end of the world comes we either won't know at all, or we will know for sure. It won't be a conspiracy theory.

Weren't the computers suppose to crash in 2000 lol

lol yeah the millenium bug. It didn't happen and I believe this time round we would survive. However most of the predictions in the past were about man made disasters like wars and computers. Now we are talking about natural disasters which anything might happens.

I don't believe in it but if it does happen then I'll be almost through college. Sounds like fun.

Was this brought it because of the Mayan calendar? The Mayans had the best calendar to date. Right now the calendar they made years and years ago is off by only a few seconds. People believe that since the Mayans stopped their calendar in december 21, 2012 it means that the world is going to end. I guess it could happen. That would suck a lot for me since December 21st is my birthday. >.>;

Either way.. We're not sure if the mayans just didnt finish the calendar. After all, that civilization just dissapeared. No one knows what happened to them. Although I think that the chinese calendar also ends in that same date. I'm not entirely sure of the chinese calendar though.

Its up to you to believe that stuff. I think its a neat story and that we will all have to wait to find out what happens in a few years.

Wow your birthday sure is accurate.. :s I believe there is no end to the chinese calendar yet or I might have not heard of it but Mayans calendar does ends on 21st December 2012. Let's see what happens when the date is coming nearer and nearer everyday.

Being that I've been around for over 30 years, I can agree with 23ninja.

I've been hearing end of the world bull**** for decades now.

1987,
1998,
2000

yadda, yadda, yadda.

It's the same bull, played on the same fears that always makes us pay attention to it.

It's not like someone, or some group will say: THE WORLD WILL END ON THIS DATE:
AND IF NOT, WE PLEDGE OUR MONEY AND OUR LIVES REMINDING EVERYONE FOR DECADES TO COME THAT 'END OF THE WORLD' CLAIMS ARE WORTHLESS!'

Thus most people forget,
but the instinctive fear remains.

The world won't end on 21 December, 2012.

Mainly because I wouldn't have all the elements of my plan in place just yet...

Well...it's an interesting topic...

but then again, plenty of people have predicted that the world would end on a specific date before...and all have been wrong

so I'm not too worried about it...but it is an interesting theory...so I'll be sure to read more about it.

Yea it's very interesting ppl keep coming out with theories that the world will end. It's interesting to also see how ppl react to it and what will they do in order to let the world lives on.
