Default Book recommendations

I don't read many books, but I'd like to start on one. Does anyone have any to recommend? Any really really good ones? I'm open to any kind, really...

Please also state their genres.

Thanks in advance=)

I know of a few there's the Xanth saga by peirs anthony
then there's the sword of truth by terry goodkind
those are both long enough to keep you occupied for a while
and if you havent yet you could read Harry potter despite what she acts like they are pretty good. Also if you just feel like reading then theree's always reading manga.

There's probably a couple hundred that comes to mind for recommendations.

For one, Empire from the Ashes by David Weber - it's really three books in one volume, but a really good read.
