Thanks for the list. What genre of books do they fall under though?

Depends much on genre. I myself love detective and suspense so I would recommend a Japanese serie - Kindaichi.

One of the Japanese writers I'd like to recommend is Haruki Murakami. Read one of his stories and decide for yourself whether you like it or not. ^^

Thanks! Erm, are the translated versions for his books easily available?

Oh they made Kindaichi into a movie didn't they?

travel
fiction
short stories/essays
and fiction/humor
respectively. some of the humor in catch-22 can actually be really black and sometimes insulting so dont try and take anything seriously.
me talk pretty one day and neither here nor there are both non-fiction and are funny in a weird sort of way. bill bryson is a really good writer. if you end up liking him he has a few other books. a walk in the woods and the mother tongue are good as well.

Thanks a lot for those recommendations. I'll look out for them when I'm not stuck reading my textbooks They are some fun to read too, honestly...

Although, I was kinda expecting suggestions leaning toward the fictional nature...

Either way, I'll have fun reading them, ahha...
