Do you prefer stand-alone Novels or are you into the multi-part series?
I read mainly in the fantasy genre and most of the novels are part of series.
Now initially they were 3 part series but I find that lately most of the series are getting really long. eg. Robert Jordan adn the Wheel of Time and Terry Goodkind - Sword of Truth.
Now I don't really mind multi-part series but when they get to book 10 with no end ion sight I get a bit peeved and put out
So what do you guys prefer?

im into series rather than stand alone novels. but i do enjoy the good single novel here and there when im not into a certain series.

I'm into series. stand alones are ok, but some aren't exciting. but, if it's really long and has a good storyline, I'll read it.

I like stand alone novels. Series are too demanding on time to read them all. I would stop probably half way through and never get back to finishing them.

Well, it really doesn't matter. A good read is a good read. As much as we would like stories and characters to go on, they all end some time, be it after 400 pages or 4000. I'd rather have a good book in either series or stand alone as opposed to a mediocre book in a good series.

I like either one, if it's a good oneshot novel, then I'll read it, and if it's a good series, I'll read it. It just has to be good. And most likely fantasy.

I'd rather stand alones, cuz I am usually impatient and want to get to the ending of the story quick haha.

Re: Do you prefer stand alone novels or are you into the multi-part series?
It sorta depends. I don't mind arcs, using characters I like. For example the Valdemar series. One world, always continuing, but doesn't have to have the same characters in each one.
Furthermore, each book has a conclusion, of sorts. Just, there is a larger problem/situation to be handled.
But a true cliffhanger? No, I've never enjoyed those unless I can get almost immediate gratification from it. But having to wait 3 years to find out what happens? (thank you George Lucas, making an 8 year old wait 3 years to find out what happened to Han Solo) -- nope, I don't like that.
