u don't see rukia and renji much in the present day, but it's easy to tell that rukia doesn't have a thing for renji. i think renji thinks of rukia either as a possible lover, or just admires her for the things she did back when they were kids

afaik, kubo tate dosent make it clear whether renji's attutude towards rukia is just deep friendship or not. He does go to surprising lengths, but i doubt rukia cares even a sliver for him. I keep up with the manga, and though it rather seems to me that renji is crazy for rukia...its never clearly stated.
