There was this guy who suddenly became close to me out of the blue. We hang out together, did some stuff together, and basically we're inseparable. He even walks me home every night, brings my laptop for me, etc. Everyone thought we're already a couple since they spotted us holding hands. It wasn't really a big deal to me and never once thought about it as anything other than plain friendship.

Then out of the blue, he's avoiding me to the point that it seems like he's mad at me or something, and it was then that I realized that I had feelings for him. We settled things though, after a few months and I asked him what he feels about me. He said that he never really liked me romantically ever since, and he did those stuff simply because we're friends.

So know, I'm really wondering how would one know if someone really likes them or they're just being friendly?

After that example I'm not sure. In my opinion I would assume he was interested in you. Because if I acted like that I probably be interested in the girl I'm doing it for. Maybe you could tell by the way they look at you but you would have to be really aware of what's going on. I still think that guy is interested in you but doesn't say it out loud. Some guys are really shy like that. I'm sure he was interested in you at some point but then maybe go over you. The same thing happened to me last year. I found out later that the girl I always hung out with was interested in me but due to the fact that I was totally oblivious moved on. What was weirder is that she moved onto my cousin. Now that was awkward. Especially when all three of us were in the same room.
