Ultimate date location?

Where would you take your boy/girl-friend to on a milestone date and what would you want to achieve? What I mean by milestone date is one of those dates where you take a step forward in your relationship, ie emotionally, spiritually etc.

Personally I would take them to my primary school because it's a place i think back fondly upon. I had many great memories there and it's in my hometown so i'd feel like i'd be taking the first steps in sharing some of my deep and meaningfuls of what helped to shape the person i am today. I hope that we can be closer to each other after that day.

Of course this date wouldn't happen until I felt it was the right time to do it...otherwise it'd just scare him away or bore him to death haha!

i would take mine to a fancy restaurant. than to a sports place to mess around. than to mine or her place like the usuall lol

This is an interesting thing for me (a currently single person) to think on... Let's see...

First off, I'm not particularily wealthy, so I wouldn't take her out to dinner. Instead, I'd shoo everyone else out of the house for the evening, and cook her favourite meal. I'd make sure to pair it with a suitable wine or spirit to enhance the flavour, but I'd also make sure that such a beverage would be acceptable to her palate.

After dinner, we'd partake in whichever common hobby or interest was strong enough to lead things to develop (after all, there must be at least some commonalities for a relationship to work, otherwise you'd never be able to interact properly with the other person).

Finally, we'd wind things down by just sitting and talking for as long as was possible. I know a lot of people don't think that just talking would qualify as a date, but it's really one of the most enjoyable ways to get to know someone.

Whoa I checked out the Calgary tower and it seems breathtaking. Although I'm in Aus i'd imagine it'd be a spectacular place to have a memory burning date!!

hmm I've always thought that for this type of date the location would have to be a meaningful one to at least one of the two people. But after reading a the replies I agree with Xylric that talking is one of the basic and one of the most effective way of getting to know someone.

And Krivolapov you're a great person to take your gf to a place like that. it must have been a breathtaking experience. whether i feel like that is because im semi-scared of heights or because i imagine the view to be spectacular would be another question!
