well to be honest, i am not that shy, but i cant get myslef to talk to people i dunno well enough only. but most of all, i just dont talk much.... but thats natural,... thats what lao tsu says anyways, lol...*sad and bitter laughter* so, ya....

Think of it this way:

Do you have anything to lose by embarrassing yourself? If you do, try mixing in groups where the subject of conversation is your primary interest.

Heh, i would be the one with the best sense of humor in russia, and i was. But english is different, i sometimes get broken sentences and usually what would be funny in russia isnt in canada. u know what i mean? And i dont mix in groups, not because i am shy, i just dont like canadians... So, i guess i only need to find the right girl, just like mojito said.

Ah, so the problem is communication...

But that isn't a bad thing; I should know, since I have Japanese colleagues who don't speak English really well. In actual fact, I have a colleague who mixes well into groups, even though they speak little English (they speak Malay and Mandarin but that doesn't stop him).

There's nothing like a little 'miscommunication' to attract people to help you out. But then again, it depends on the crowd, I suppose. Still, it shouldn't hold you back.

try and find people with interests similar to yours. then go for it. no matter who it is if you have a similar interests conversations can go on forever. hell today i had a conversation with my math teacher about golf. i only found out today that he plays. we had a conversation for like 45 minutes. and he's my math teacher. i hate the subject and its his class is boring but we found a similar interest.

. But, its extremely difficult to find people with the same interests as myself. Also because people dont understand my, hm... behaviour (self made gentleman's code as svens

), the way i think, my interests, and finally how i manage to get good marks without trying to and studying (except if there is an exam) (this is bragging, but its true). Thats not all but in my opinion it says a lot

(to darech76): And mixing in groups just doesnt seem to be my thing. I feel more comfortable alone, and i cant hang out with more than 2 people other than me. (which is extremely rare). I guess i also think too high of myself too
