I also like girls who are natural: little to no makeup, natural skin (as in if you're naturally tan, your tan, if you're naturally pale, you're pale). I don't believe in falsifying your appearance to please other people. I'm also against surgery for vanity's sake (though I kinda feel bad since I may have to have surgery for my pecs in a couple years...), so if you're got implants, get away from me, lol. I also am not a big fan of large breasts. I tend to like the 32B - 34C range. Any bigger than a 36-C and it becomes unattractive for me.
Appearances aside, the most important thing for me is does she have similar yet varied interests and can we spend hours debating over the most random, stupid, or thoughtful stuff? I like a girl who is smart, breaks the mold, has a sharp wit and a random sense of humor. I like girls with originality and a rebellious streak, but who still know how to be responsible when they need to be.
I guess maybe my standards are high, but then again, most of the girls my friends are interested in, I really couldn't care less about.

I dont think your standards are high, just right. A few things i would change for my perfect women

Re: First impression of opposite genders
Girl next door, childhood friend, very cute, a bit clumsy and completely honest, a touch of innocense, basically the girl from any romance anime =D
and yeah! the looks first always and i can grab alot of a person personality from it, after a quick chat even more and at this point im rarely wrong if im gonna enjoy her company or not.

Re: First impression of opposite genders
The first thing I probably notice about a girl is how nice she looks in general.. You know, how's her complexion, how nice is her hair, is there too much makeup, is there not enough makeup, what's going on with her teeth, is her face mostly symmetrical. and then if her face is cute she ususally has a cute body to go with it, so I never go much farther than noticing the face. Then I notice her attitude and personality and whatnot.
My sister makes fun of people a lot so I try to find people who cant be made fun of very easily :P

Re: First impression of opposite genders
for me looks aren't so big, if the girl can look me in the eyes, almost as if staring me down then thats cool, if the girl can take care of herself, (as in, if a guy tries to rape her she's able to kick the guys a$$) thats good too. I also like girls who like doing stuff, that aren't.... sheltered. Like you know, will be adventerous (not in bed, but in life). If she has these qualities then she will look so much better in my eyes than an attractive girl without them.

Re: First impression of opposite genders
From first impressions, the first thing most people notice would be their physical features. Including myself.

Re: First impression of opposite genders
We've got to face the facts that physical appearances are the first thing that catches our eye; I, myself, wouldn't want to talk to someone I didn't feel anything. After witnessing their appearance, next would be their gesture ( I wouldn't want to talk to a guy who starts spiting hahaha) and if it seems gentlemanly, I'd be more interested to engage in convo. :-) Too bad there's not many gentlemen in this world.

Re: First impression of opposite genders
From the 1st look, i of course see their physical appereance, and then i will look how they react, how they talk, etc.
I also won't care much for the girl, if she is not noticeable or pretty. Well that's for the first impression. There is a girl in my class who i did not notice, and when we sat together during a subject lesson, she started talking to me and i found she is quite fun to hang out with.. that is after 1st impression.
