Sheesh...it sounds like that in 20 years, they still have YET to make driver's ed better.
Hell, it sounds like they just make it worse.
Although the movies we had to watch sucked, most of the practical stuff was long...but at least it was on topic, and I know I avoided an accident because of one tidbit of info (3 lane highway, you are on far left, middle lane open...make sure if you are moving into the middle, that no one from the far right is moving in as well. Sure enough, once, we both tried to move into the middle at the same time)

Um, my dad bought it from ebay (like he did his two cars) and so it has to be shipped.
ahhh, I see.
Never ever thought about buying a car that way. I assume it works out well with your Dad? And when does it arrive again?
Quote:
And <3 is a heart =) It's sideways.
ah, I have learned something today.

Quote:
Well, I'm still assigned to the original ride. It goes down a lot, but we still work it
.
Um....I cannot remember. Have you ever mentioned what ride that is? Because I could have sworn all you have said previously was that it was broke, it was broke again, and you had to work elsewhere. So what ride is it?
Quote:
Although, it went down Tuesday and they're still working on it, since it actually broke, it wasn't a computer thing. So now our crew has been sent all over the park to help out while we wait. I'm now trained on... six rides.
Notches in your belt, eh?
It's like reading the qualifications for an anime character.
Too bad you aren't Union, you'd have to be paid more for such knowledge.

Quote:
Yeah, sorry for the delay, I've worked the past three days.
Cool. I still wait for your 'post-of-glee' when you hit your first $1,000 in your account.
How are the feet?

Oh! And my friend just got hired, but not to our ride. She's across the park *tear*[/quote]Awwwww.
Perhaps something later will allow your paths to cross.

Yeah. My dad buys a lot of things online, but he knows what to look out for, so it always works out well. It should arrive in about a week and a half, maybe? My dad is still working out details to get it shipped. Then I can practice with it for a bit so I'm comfortable with it when I take my test soon. I'll be so glad to finally get all of this over with!

My ride is called The Crypt. Last year it was called Tomb Raider:The Ride, and it broke down in July and stayed closed through the rest of the season. But then they fixed and revamped it and opened it for this one. The confusion that I may have mentioned is that it goes down a lot for technical things, but it's still open, and we're still working on it, it just gets fixed each time it goes down. But when it's down, we obviously have nothing to do, so we get sent to other rides. BUT... it's just for the day.

My feet are good! I'm actually losing weight with all the running around, haha! And I just put $600 in the bank, with about $75 at home, so I'm working towards it! And about my friend, I'm sure I'll get sent to where she is eventually, we requested to have similar shifts for carpool and whatnot.

Still, sounds like a great car.
And I'm sorry your driver experience has been hell. B/c of my father rushing, I had my license before I even realized it.

What type of ride is it? Roller Coaster? Video? The ride is actually in the machine, on a simple track? Etc

Good to hear that it's allowing you to be healthy. Though I doubt the tempting food in the park is helping any. And carpooling will definitely help.

Congrats on your first $600!!! Any comments from your parents yet?

Well, I got the car! I love it, it's awesome.
My license test is scheduled for June 24th, that's the earliest they had.

Our ride is hard to explain... it's like two rows of seats on a platform, which is on two arms. It swings back and forth and also spins upside down.

And nothing really comment wise from my parents, haha.

Finally done with school!

Kate on the open road.
Now you had to survive having your siblings beg you for rides.

Best of luck on your test, I know you'll do fine.

Except for parallel parking...i HATE parallel parking!
Do you have to test for that?

Ah, so that was Tomb Raider?
I think Iknow the style, and its a style I would NEVER go on. I wouldn't want to lose my lunch.

I swear, that thing could be used as a torture device.

Well, maybe at the first $1,000. If not, definitely at $2,000.

I mean, are they still skeptical, or are they more supportive?

Or are they more chasing after and controlling your two younger siblings?

So you'll get your new work schedule soon?

No, we don't have to parallel park, but we have to do this thing called manueverbility.

Maneuverability Test

Yeah, it was Tomb Raider. And haha, two people threw up on Tuesday, but I was always somewhere where I didn't have to clean it up, yay!

I don't know about my parents, they don't seem to care either way.

And I have my work schedule already, I work different shifts each week, so we get monthly schedules.

Funkalicious.
I've never heard of such a thing, and I'm having a bit of a problem setting up what they want you to do (it's not important, so no worries)

Only thing I can see is the 9X20 box.

Ouch....just...ouch...

So you were 'strategic placement', eh?

As they say in real estate: Location, location, location.

Well, that can also be good.....no nagging at least.

But even if they don't say it, I will:

Congradulations on your first $600!!!!!!!!

*nods*
How many hours do they have you down for? (average per week)

Wooo, I just got my newest paycheck, it was $275, so I'll put $250 into the bank. I'm setting a bit of money aside for when I take a vacation down to Virginia Beach to visit friends the first week of July. Only 10 more days until I can test for my license, I'm getting so excited!

Let's see. Right now, I have about 4 of every 15 days off, so I work a shift almost every day. It works out to like... 35 hours a week at the moment. The newness is wearing off a little bit, but I still have a lot of fun.

And thanks for the congratulations

Very cool, and great idea on your budgeting (allowing yourself some of it to have fun with now)

*grins*
Very close.
BTW, how are you getting to work these days?
And to save gas, even when you get your license, do you plan to carpool

(ps - glad you are getting excited, I was nervous as heck the weeks before my test)

That sounds about right, for what you want.

This happens to everyone, everytime for almost every job.

If you can stretch out that 'newness' and 'fun' factor for as long as you can, you'll be ahead of the vast majority of your cohorts.

Now, I don't know how your mind works, but I found multitasking increases the enjoyment. I meant by accomplishing something else.
Since this is a job for the mission of getting to go to Japan, perhaps everyday you can have one vocab word that you'll repeat to yourself when you are on the job.
Preferably one that's around you (go for nouns, I mean).
Colors, numbers, shapes, body parts (arms, legs, eyes, hair), etc...somethings around you that you learn the Japanese word for instead. When you get to take that '10 second mental breather' you just look around you and start naming, say, colors in Japanese of objects that are around you. Two birds with one stone.

Of course, after you own personal modification, if you can pull that off you'll be years ahead of me when I was your age. I couldn't do that trick until I was in my mid-20's.

Quote:
And thanks for the congratulations
Welcome!

(now do I have to say congratulations for your first $850?)

Well, right now my mom has been taking me and picking me up. I have another friend that lives nearby (who works in kiddyland), and when we work the same shifts, we carpool, my mom takes and her mom picks up. When I have my license, I will probably still carpool with her, or I drive and have her pay me for gas sometimes.

Maybe I'll have to try that about the Japanese words. I already know the colors and numbers, so I'll maybe do body parts next.

Well, sorry so short, but I've gotta run. I'm taking my little brother to KI today to ride rides. It seems like I never get away from there =P
