That's because you are intelligent.
Doing an early morning Black Friday, especially if you have to arrive the night before, is definately not worth 'opportunity cost'.
Opportunity cost - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
But, I've wanted to do one for over 10 years, so about 3 years ago I gave it a try, and had some fun with it. So I've done it ever since. Therefore I receive a morale benefit beyond the 'cheap prices', so it's been worth it.
But for pure $ cost? Uh-uh, it wouldn't be worth it otherwise.
But how has your Xmas shopping come along?
Oh,...and have you ever gotten to an Xbox yet? (Sneak King)

Re: Ask Kate
Yuuji -- Someday, maybe when I'm older, I'll do that. Just to see.
I passed my temps test today! I got the card on October 15th, but then I was like 'meh, I'll take it tomorrow.. tomorrow.. tomorrow...' and then it got to now, November 30th. Good news is, my 6 months period last from when I got the card (October 15th) so I can still get my license on time! I'm excited.
Zelor -- We're doing good, and I miss you too.
I'm too tired to write more, I've been babysitting a lot and pulling 5 hour nights, and omg I get to sleep in tomorrow.. awesome.

Rgr that.
But it really is crazy (as in painful and tiring). I just had people to do it with, which made it worth it. Otherwise, it's a bit silly to do - especially if you have a lot more stressful things to take care of.

Congradulations!!
*chuckles*
Would you believe I _just_ helped someone with a PowerPoint presentation on 'Procrastination'? So I know what it's like to put something off....heck, I'm putting off work right now for an assignment due in 90 minutes. Then again, I need the stress relief so I can focus better.
And cool.....5 more months, and then you'll be-a-crusin'!
*thinks*
That is...have your parents already talked to you about car scheduling? (in other words - what rules they will have with using the car?)

Re: Ask Kate
No, we really haven't talked about my car usage though.. I know my dad will probably buy one. We have five right now, but my dad is trying to sell one. None of them are really teen/new driver cars, plus I want my own, so probably sometime after I turn 16, then they will. I also know that in the first 6 months, I'm definitely not allowed to go see Josh, but after that they haven't said anything. But we really haven't talked about it yet.

But new or used?
And if you have 5 cars, is that dad packratting? Or is a car enthusiast? Or does he like/did like to tinker with cars?
Oh, and what constitutes a 'new driver' car?
Good to hear that you guys have talked somewhat about the subject (not that its critical to talk about it half a year in advance).
BTW, if this is an acceptable place to ask, has your relationship improved with your parents? I remember over a year ago they were being...well, rather overreacting. Things (apparently) have gotten better, but just wanted to know for sure.
Now I'm pretty positive you and parents probably butt heads more then ever, but that happens around this age. The question is more: have they been listening more? (compared to last year, where they wouldn't listen at all, you had no say, and what they said was final etc etc etc)

Re: Ask Kate
It would definitely be used.
My dad loves cars. He bids on them all the time.
And a 'new driver' car would be something not too small... like I think beetle bug convertibles are adorable, but I'm not allowed to have one, or we also have a jeep, but it's not the safest car to drive for a new driver either.
Actually, things are going really good with them. They've started figuring me out a bit more, so we get along. They realize that normally I will find a way to get what I want, but not ridiculously so. I normally know what's good for me, and if we can compromise it makes things a lot easier.
My sister however, is now moving into teenage mode, she's a total pain. And my little brother's been having tantrums lately, so they don't really get a break. xD

Excellent!
Compared to last year, that definately sounds like excellent news.

ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take _THAT!! You parents who 'evenly space' their children apart!!
*thinks*
You guys are around 2 years apart, right? (thus your sister is 2 years younger then you, and about 2 years older then your brother)

Re: Ask Kate
Yeah, we're all around that. I'm 15, she's 13, and he's 10. So a little more of a gap between them, but yeah. xDDD I feel bad for them.. but at least I haven't been giving them trouble, and they've awhile to go to match me, hehe.
Oh and speaking of cars. I think my dad was planning to get me something like a VW Jetta.

Hope you had a good holiday(s).
And I don't believe I'm familiar with the Jetta.
How is the outlook for all of that?
(and about siblings, my brother is going to come home by the end of the month from his third tour of duty. The funny thing that happened, is that he will be without a cellphone, so tonight I had to help my father finish up with a good Tracfone deal. For only $55 I was able to set him up with a decent phone, and 7hr20minutes worth of time. Being that the normal cost is $20 for 60 minutes, that wasn't bad. Gotta love those hidden deals and bonus codes)
