Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Well, too bad I dinnae have a connection able to link up to the 360... So, do you get any staff discounts?
With the new year coming up, how are your resolutions coming along?
I plan to get me a tabletop magnifying lens for miniature work if I can find it.
One more question: any recommendations on how to clean an Xbox 360 controller? My white version is starting to turn a little yellow around the sides, and the spaces between buttons are turning grey, even after wiping off the dust. Before I go ape-crazy using cleaning fluids, I thought I'd ask the advice of the support maestro first...

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Well darech76 The xbox 360 isn't launched officially in Egypt so staff discounts would be useless we don't get them (We occasionally get cash from Microsoft ).
As for your controller. Disconnect the battery first. Wipe it dust free with a dry clean cloth. After that damp it with a home made cleaning fluid (like windex or such but don't soak it). OR and thats my own tip is to damp it with an alochol (methanol or ethanol) and wipe it clean.

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Well, I was thinking of using nail polish remover since it worked real swell back when I was cleaning some of my plastic wares (a lot of grime can collect on stuff over the years especially when it gets handled...). I'm just wondering if there's a recommended level of solvency I should be paying attention to.
Hopefully I can get transferred soon... more moolah in the currency exchange...

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
No, TakeMeForCola, our mutual friend is both a doctor and a tech helpline specialist for Microsoft.
As for me bonus, I used it up buying figures and games... Monsterpocalypse, Dungeoneer and several skimpily-clad figures... And I just realised a lot of figures are made in China and YOU DO NOT BUY THEM IF YOU ARE A SERIOUS COLLECTOR. If you are lucky, some of the figures are good, but more often than not, 80% have some obvious defect that devalues the figure...

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
I won't buy figures or any serious collector's edition of anything that is made in china at all! I got a few gifts for my friends and got my feet weary looking up authentic stuff that isn't china made.
TakeMeForCola I am a doctor and an xbox technical support all in one guy. It sounds peculiar I know but hey its tough to make a living in these times.

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Yeah, and working life isn't great when you have stupid colleagues who know less about thinking and planning for the future.
Who gives a crap about how difficult work is for the boss? If you want the job, it's all part of the work, man!!!
For me, there's no stinkin' way in heck I'm sitting still in a dead-end position. But if the boss doesn't want me to quit, then you jolly well find something I can do that the company needs or pay me heaps of money!
A wise ex-boss once told me, "You first work with passion, then you move on to commitment... but whatever the case may be, at the end of the day, YOU WORK FOR MONEY."
Money talks man... all da way to da bank!
Yo, Paladin77, I'm going to try nail polish remover to clean my controller.

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Its a good idea darech76. Just make sure its not too concentrated i.e solvent level is not heavy or you will end up smudging it to an offwhite yucky color.
And your ex boss is right on the mark. I said the exact same thing to a friend when salary was a bit late in te bank. I told him its the reason why we work in the first place.

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Drink alot of fluids and wrap yourself with as many blankets until you sweat it out. Also take alot of fruits and vitamins to espcially the trio A C E all of which will help your skin heal better.
