Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Hey, Paladin77, what are the chances for me to get measles at my age? And my likely survival rate?
I've never got any measles (although my older sister did get it waaaaaaaay back when she was 15) or chicken pox despite being exposed to people with them, and just today one o' me colleagues had red spots appearing all over his exposed body parts this afternoon...
Could be a viral fever, but it sure looked like measles to me...

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Ok First I need from you to check your childhood vaccination schedule if you were vaccinated against the Measles Mumps and Rubella (collectively known as the infamous MMR vaccine and used in many countries) then your chances of getting Measles is pretty much close to ZERO ZILCH NADA! If not then the odds are greatly changed.
If you are not vaccinated I suggest that you do: These Viral Trio have a devastating impact when caught at an adult age, so as Chicken Pox (however chicken pox has the least impact when caught in adulthood). Those destructive effects invlovle glandular destruction, sterility and autoimmune diseases.
EDIT: There is now an MMRV vaccine that even protects against chicken pox too known as ProQuad. And remember to consult your doctor before taking a vaccine.

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Hey, TakeMeForCola, you sound like you're stuck wondering if you're ex is testing you or has really moved on.
I'd suggest you go for Jessica. I dislike the whole "test-my-guy" crap many girls seem to enjoy springing on guys all the time. Some guys like it, but it's one of those factors that give rise to jerks and their female counterparts.
To Paladin77:
I'm not too clear about the immunization I received as a baby, but I think I did get the rubella immunization shot. Not sure about the actual name, but I doubt they called it MMR back in 1976. Then again, I'm no doctor...
I've had mumps at 6, and I've been exposed to German measles (from my older sister) and Chicken pox (from many, many friends), but I have not contracted either.
And yesterday I had a mild fever. Today I had problems waking up since I had very disturbing dreams of distorted reality all night (thanks to the fever?), and went to work in order to clear things off so I can call in sick tomorrow. No spots...

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Yeah, don't you just hate it when girls say one thing but mean another?
Looks like a solid case of "I can do it but you can't", TakeMeForCola. Best thing to do is forget about your ex and live it up...

yes i do hate it
its like the most annoying thing in the world either way i just can not do right
and yea i know i should and well i have moved on with jessica but sometimes it easier said then done.
i mean my relationship with my ex was fine nothing was bad untill she had to go so to just break up i was still in love and even though i am moving on a tad there is always that small thing about my ex
maybe its the fact we didn't break up because of a fall out or arguement that makes it so hard
"sigh"
for once i'm actually stuck but i guess i will be able to move on

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Your ex is one of those girls that need a HUGE dose of reality, TakeMeForCola...
To really oversimplify matters, men are really VERY practical creatures. Women on the other hand... like to complicate things by thinking far, far ahead... sometimes too far ahead that it ceases to be real... until reality creeps back in, and they realise that their guy has moved on in a way they least expected.
Serves them right for taking guys for granted...

Re: Ask Paladin!!!!!!!!
Well most prolly you took the MMR vaccine (although naturallly). The immunity against the diseases you contracted or been exposed to are solid and usually life lasting. I still do suggest you check your immunisation to be on the safe side.
BTW Darech76 Congrats for all the New dashboard on the Xbox 360 aka The new xbox experience. Although its causing alot of troubles (a spike of calls here to the support is present) sorta like Windows Vista.
TakemeForCola listen to your elders namely Darech76 and moi! You and your ex broke up and the story ended. Its time for you to move on and tell her that if necessary, since that lingering she does is messing up your head and putting you in a standstill. Also bear in mind there is a 3rd inoccent bystander namely Jessica. She likes you (or so it seems) and you have a clear chance with her instead of an illusion in Paris. Tell me don't you think she deserves a chance (Jessica that is)?!
