Hikaru no Go

Plot Summary:

Hikaru Shindo is just a normal 12 year old Japanese boy. One day, he's rumaging through his Grandfather's things to see if he can find something to sell and pulls out an old Go board.

A ghostly apparation appears out of the board and tells Hikaru his sad story. His name is Sai Fujiwara, a man who was a Go instructor to the emperor of Japan a thousand years ago. However, because of bad sportsmanship during a game, Sai was accused of cheating and banashied from the city. With no livelihood or any other reason to live, Sai commited suicide by drowning himself. Now, he haunts a Go board, and wants to accomplish the perfect Go game, called the "Hand of God" which he hopes to do through Hikaru. If Hikaru will be able to do it or not (or even wants to) will have to be seen.

i have finished watching hikaru no go's animation. It is really very touching at the part where sai disintegrated. I cried so badly I don't think Sai should leave. He was an important character in Hikaru no Go. W/o him, Hikaru might not have been interested in Go at all.. Another part where Hikaru searched high and low for Sai made me so touched and depressed as well... Sob... He misunderstood Sai for being angry and left him for his hometown... Sigh.. Sai..

However, in future episodes, there were some sightings of Sai but it's not enuff argghh. i miss sai...

I also finish the series but not the movie or the ova.
I thought is was a really good anime even though it has over 75 episode it took to damn long to watch there where i time i almost stop watching it but i was glad i didn't

I never found out where the manga is so i cant really read it but the series was good

i thought this show was awesome even though i still dont understand that much of Go or Igo or whatever u wanna call it. it was very well made. i think they need to come with another ova cuz movie didnt wrap up everything to my feeling

I'm so happy someone started a thread about this show. I absolutely LOVE it!!!! If you would have told me I would like a show about a board game i would've thought you were nuts but its fantastic I'm on about episode 41 right now so I can't read too many of these posts yet. If you haven't seen it - TRY IT!!!
