Codecs pack usually aren't a good solution, it's better to install only the codecs you really need (not ever the last version). So you avoid problems, and if some appears, you easily know when and what caused them.

you can also use VLC or Nero ShowTime. VLC plays every codec and Nero also plays a lot. just type VLC in google

sometimes VCL player on some computers the video wont show up. I wonder if its because my screen is wide or something because on my other comp VCL works great.

also does anyone know a good codec for a mkv file. I have Colec Advance Codec pack but it doesn't seem to have that codec in it.
