Fushigi Yugi

Anyone watched this anime before? It's a pretty old anime, and I have noticed that very few people know of it. Anyone even heard of it here?

The story is basically about two schoolgirls in modern Japan who discover an ancient scroll in the library by accident, and it brings them into another world, the world of the four gods.

They end up splitting up in that world, and one of them gets mistaken for the high priestess of one of the gods, and ends up collecting the Suzaku 7, 7 warriors bearing the mark of Suzaku somewhere on their body, in order to fight evil.

The main villain, with the chinese word 'heart' etched on his face, is so cool. A must-watch in my opinion, I even bought the original vcds. I don't think a dvd version exists.

I read the manga, but I've got kind of annoyed of it an my friend has stopped buying them. I liked it in the beginning, however, too much attempted rape and Miaka is annoying.

I also know of it... my brother bought a couple of video tapes of the series... I didn't attempt to finish it, though, since I don't like the fact that every guy falls in love with Miaka! Even Nuripe.. I think he said something like Miaka brought out his manliness.. Besides that, I don't think that Miaka is even that attractive.. She's the one who causes trouble and I don't like the way she acts... But that's just my opinion.. ^__^;

Strangely i manage to finish the 1st series of Fushigi Yuki... maybe i was nothing to do at that time or does not have any more good anime to rent( back in Japan) ... that's it for me.. i don't even bother to check the second series... the repeating storyline are just teribble .. every guy are falling in love with Miaka.. the repeating rape attempt... Miaka got captured .. Everybody rescuing Miaka... it's just endless

well i only saw 5 epo from it n i loved but i didnt find the other epo in direct.. so i didnt get the chance to watch the whole anime .. but i think the ova is more cooler than series

miaka and tamahome are both annoying n irritating....well same meaning but you get my point~~~......i know they are the main characters and all......but i much prefer yuhi ........the short hair yellow girl as the main...................................cause in the 1st ep....i wanted to slap miaka already..
