chan is "cute" like more used for girls but still used 4 guyz.... it is usually for kids in elementary schoool or lower... <12
san is used as a normal suffix. if you were the same age, or similar, you'd call him/her that.
kun is only used for males and is slighlty higher than san and if someone is older than you by 2 or 3 years (for kids) or 10 years(for adults) u'd use it. NOTE: senpai - meaning older person i look up to is often used instead of a name and suffix (like a senior at skewl when your a first year (yr 7/8 to a 11/12)
sama - means god... when someone is of high importance or has done something relly good...etc... you call them _____-sama
thus the leader of the country is __________-sama and his grandson is also_____-sama because of their stupid "respect thing"
general notes.... if you shorten someones name and add chan it is a nickname like mine is travis in jap torabisu-kun but tora-chan would be a nick name like trav/travy and btw...how awesome tora means...TIGER!!! i didn't know that at first:P
gama is like sama but used as a noun.... such as in bleach shini - gama means
shin/i - death
gama - god (as a person)
i think that is about it... also the newer subs are coming out with more notes up the top...READ THEM!!! they will teach u shitloads.....
