I liked the movie completely, even when I watched it in English.
First, I liked how the Japanese can even recognize a strange US Holiday as halloween.
And then the other part, which was a staple of Cowboy BeBop, was a view of the human condition. In this case, the fallout of when people are used as pawns....and then the strangeness of how the world reacts.

Oh, and I also got a kick out of all those 'ancient' airplanes they had. I felt old because I could name most of them (the ones in hte foreground). Gotta love the P-28 Lig!
